JoyWhen I asked Rich Sheridan, Founder of Menlo Innovations, what the core focus of his business was, he replied, “Joy!”.   He said, “Our employees ought to find joy in their work and our customers should experience joy from what we create for them.  Everyone talks about sustainability, but no one talks about human sustainability.  Joy is key to that.”  Rich has the following belief statements posted inside his organization:

“We believe…
    • Life is intended to be a joyful experience!
    • Joy is central to the success of our software design and development!
    • To achieve joy, everything must change!”

Rich has changed the way software design occurs, and in turn, changed the way people think about work.  If Rich is right and life is intended to be joyful, how might today be one of joy for you?

Since I can’t think of a lot to be thankful for today (it has been a hard, stressful day), I thought I would just reblog from a colleague. He always has great insightful and uplifting blogs and I really needed to read this one today – I hope you get something out of it as well.

What do you think?
